Teaching Philosophy:

Learning how to sing lies in learning how to practice and to recreate the unique sensations of singing and access all that is available to you, the singer, so that you can become the best you can be. No one else can sing for you, so I teach from your unique perspective, that is, the singer's perspective, or "the producer of tone".

My teaching is based on direct and positive communication between me, the teacher, and you, the student. A solid partnership and trust must be present in order for there to be vocal growth; one must be open to change and be willing to practice in a very systematic way throughout the week and outside the voice lesson. The students who succeed the most are those who practice on a regular basis and who take lessons on a weekly basis.

I guide my students to help themselves, to be the best they can be, at any level. Some are professional classical and operatic soloists, some professional, semi-professional, and amateur choral singers, or talented high school students, who sing in different genres. No matter who you are and what your goal is, in addition to developing a healthy vocal production, I pay special attention to pitch and singing in tune; this is not only limited to those who are choral singers.

Optimal posture and breathing, steady air flow, clarity and freedom of tone, full range of dynamics, range, blending of registers, agility, seamless legato, projection, and proper diction, are just some of the goals we aim to achieve in your lessons. I treat my students as individuals with unique voices, personalities, and unique vocal journeys, therefore teaching everyone differently.

In addition to spending a lot of time on the analytical side of one's vocal development, I often talk about the artist's expressive and emotional side; the responsibility we have to bring art into this crazy world we live in. I strongly believe that art can bring peace to the world, that is why every note we sing must be as beautiful as we can make it!
