After traveling to UMBRIA for almost 30 years, first to perform as an opera, concert, and choral singer for the Festival dei Due Mondi (Festival of Two Worlds), as a tourist, and now as the co-founder and artistic director of a choral and cultural summer program, the time has come to share my passion for UMBRIA and her "sweetness" to people like you who seek a unique, "off the beaten path", and less touristy Italy travel experience. For me Italy is the center of the universe; all her regions, natural and diverse beauty, historical importance, not to mention the birth place and flourishing of music, opera, and art in general. For many years I helped prepare singers to travel and perform at this famous arts festival in the medieval hilltop town of SPOLETO, and also gained industry experience as an Italy Travel Specialist, designing small group tours for a small boutique Italy travel company based in Philadelphia. In addition to being passionate about the Italian culture, language, food, art, architecture, and history, I am an avid Italian wine enthusiast, have visited many wineries in Italy, received a wine certificate from The Wine School of Philadelphia, and taken courses on the wines of Italy.

DANIELA, along with her husband, Gianluca, head an Umbrian travel company based in the Umbrian hilltop town of SPOLETO. Born and raised in Spoleto, these native Umbrians share a common joy for "the Green Heart of Italy". They fell in love with UMBRIA early in life and have been sharing their passion for all things "Umbrian" with people from around the globe for over a decade. Daniela graduated as a Tour Operator and Guide from the prestigious tourism school of "Alberghiero di Spoleto", and passed rigorous written tests and oral examinations to be a fully licensed guide within all of UMBRIA. Gianluca worked for many years as an Umbrian olive oil broker and has traveled extensively around the Mediterranean region in search of the perfect olive oil. For many years they co-owned a handmade pasta business, sharing their passion for the art of traditional and fresh Umbrian pasta with the entire Spoletino-Umbrian region. Their unique and extensive experience in UMBRIA has been combined to create a wonderful team of travel professionals. Daniela, our Umbrian "fairy", brings a unique local and native perspective to our "SWEETNESS OF UMBRIA" tour, as we explore the many "off the beaten path" and mystical corners throughout this lush, rich, and exquisite region of central Italy.
